The Forge—Relation of Reason and Faith

1. Have you heard of Presuppositionalism? One source describes it as the idea that “At some point, we all have to make pre-theoretical commitments on the basis of faith.” What does this mean? Is Presuppositionalism correct? (I hold that this is mysticism, meaning the idea that knowledge ever comes by any means other than reason, which always means by feelings.)

2. If you were raised according to a certain religious belief and later you discovered (and knew with certainty) that is was actually irrational, would you continue to believe it, or would you abandon that belief?

3. What Are Some Reasons You Believe the Bible? (Bonus: Do you have more than one kind of reason? If so, which kind is most important, and why?)
